Cute New Curly Hairstyles

Curls can be achieved using rollers, curling irons or braids.

Cute curly hairstyles are versatile enough to be worn every day or to a special occasion, such as a wedding or party. For those who have not been blessed with naturally curly hair, many techniques can be used to achieve a range of curls from large and bouncy to tight or wavy. Alternatively, those with natural curls should take regular trips to the salon to ensure curls stay in top condition. Before using any heated appliances such as curling irons, remember to always use a heat protection spray to protect your hair from damage.

Longer Bouncy Curls

Longer bouncy curls are the perfect curly style for those with long, luscious hair. The style is classic and beautiful and will turn heads wherever you go. Bouncy curls can be achieved using a large curling iron and styling product with minimal time required. To achieve curls on your own hair, section the hair into small pieces and wrap around the curling iron. When curling, leave a couple of inches smooth from the roots so that two-thirds of the hair is curled. This will ensure the style does not look frizzy at the roots. Partings can be worn to the side to compliment the look.

Wavy Bob

A wavy bob looks stylish, effortless and sophisticated. If your hair is already cut into a mid-length to longer bob, this style is a great update when you fancy a change or for a special occasion. Different techniques can be used to achieve waves depending on the type of curl you prefer. For tighter curls, you may wish to use a curling iron, which will give more definition. If your hair is naturally wavy, simply dry your hair with a hairdryer and use your fingers to tease the hair, using the natural movement to achieve a wavy look.

Summer Twists

Summer twists are a fun, stylish alternative for those who do not own a curling iron or are away on holiday. The style suits longer hair and although hair may look curly and wavy from a distance, it is actually held in place with clear elastic bands. To try the look at home, simply take damp 2-inch sections of hair. Divide the section into two pieces and twist around each other, securing in place with a clear elastic band. Repeat this process on random sections of hair. Although the style can be left in place with the bands, you may wish to take these out after several hours and tease the sections with your fingers to create natural waves.
