Create Old Hollywood Hairstyles

Hot rollers can be used to create Old Hollywood hairstyles.

Old Hollywood hairstyles are very graceful and elegant, which may be why you still see them on the red carpet today. Pair a classic Old Hollywood style with bright red lipstick and a vintage dress, and you are sure to turn heads. Create an Old Hollywood look at home for formal events, or just for a fun night out on the town.

Instructions

1. Plug in a set of medium or large hot rollers and allow them to heat. In the meantime, wash and condition your hair with a curl-enhancing shampoo and conditioner. Run a volumizing mousse through towel-dried hair.

2. Separate your hair into three sections: one section on each side of your hair, and then one center section that consists of your bangs and the hair on the crown of your head. Then separate the center section into three sub-sections, which will be placed in three hot rollers.

3. Roll the front, center section of your hair forward in hot rollers, using one hot roller for each of the three sections. Roll the remainder of your hair in hot rollers around the sides and front of your hair. Allow the curlers to cool completely, then carefully remove each hot roller.

4. Spray the hair thoroughly with hairspray and allow it to dry. Run a round brush gently through your hair. Part your hair into an extreme side part. Use the round brush to curl the front of the hair under to make a roll around the forehead.

5. Pull the side of your hair that the part is moving away from back over your ear and secure it with a diamond brooch or pretty hair clip. Spray the hair thoroughly again.
