Rod Curl Hair

Curling of the hair can be dated back as far as with the ancient Egyptians. They used sticks and mud to hold the curls. Despite this fact, there are many different ways to curl your hair. You can use brushes, curling irons and hair rollers. Here is curl your hair using rods rollers.

Instructions

1. Gather all supplies. Be sure to read all the instructions to any products you are using. Begin by washing your hair. Always be careful that you have washed all shampoo out of your hear. After completing this, apply your conditioner. You can use a conditioner that you rinse or a leave in. If you are pressed for time, a leave-in conditioner is best.

2. Brush your hair until it is untangled, and comb it to the back of your head. This makes it easy to rod-curl your hair. Apply your setting lotion all over the head. This lotion is what enables your hair to hold the curl while it is wet. You should use enough setting lotion to maintain the wetness of your hair. Apply a palm full to the head, and ensure that the lotion isn’t dripping from your head.

3. Begin at the front of your head, and part a small section of the hair to begin rolling. When rolling you your head, roll the hair at an angle. Don’t just roll the hair directly downward with hands straight up. Hold hands at an angle, and roll at an angle. If you want smaller, tighter rods, you need to use small or medium-sized rod curlers. If you want large rod curls you should use a large rod curling roller. For looser curls, you should roll the rods not as tight as you would if you wanted tight curls. The tighter you roll the hair around the rod roller, the tighter the curl. Keep that in mind when rolling. Roll the hair with the rod rollers from left to right until you have finished the whole head.

4. Spray your entire head with the water in your spray bottle. This is done to ensure that the head is wet to hold the shape of the rod curler. Now, blow dry the hair for 45 minutes, or until fully dry. If you don’t like to use heat on your hair, you can let it air dry. However, it takes almost 3 hours to fully dry without heat. The curls will still turn out the same, it just takes a little longer to dry.

5. Remove all rod rollers from your head once it has dried. Spray your hair with hair spray for about 3 seconds. Now, spray a little hair spray on your index fingers. Take your index fingers and loosen your curls one by one. When you finish, you should have a head full of beautiful rod curls. Go out and show them off!
