Make A Flower Hair Bow

Make hair bows from delicate-looking silk flowers.

Floral hair bows are simple and feminine hair accessories that you can make from a few silk flowers you may already have on hand. The flowers are dismantled and the petals are arranged into a large pile and reattached to a small piece of stem. Make tiny hair bows from miniature silk flowers or make large hair bows from the largest silk flowers you can find. When the floral bow is finished, embellish it with a gemstone center and attach it to your favorite type of hair clip.

Instructions

1. Take apart the flowers by removing the centers. Set the center piece with the stem aside for a few moments.

2. Layer the petals of the different flowers on top of each other, with the largest petals on the bottom and the smallest on top.

3. Apply a little bit of glue to the underside of the center of the flower and a little bit of glue to the top of the smallest layer of petals.

4. Slide the smallest layer of petals onto the stem. Apply a little bit of glue to the underside of the layer and slide the next smallest layer onto the stem. Continue until you have added all the layers of petals.

5. Trim the stem so it does not protrude beyond the bottom layer of petals.

6. Apply some glue to the center of the flower and press an imitation gemstone onto the glue to make a gemstone center for the hair bow.

7. Apply glue over the top of the clip or barrette and press the bottom of the flower hair bow against the clip.
