Apply Hair Permanent Solution
Many women get a permanent wave to achieve the hairstyle they want. A perm gives extra body and fullness to almost any hairstyle. You can give yourself a perm at home without paying beauty salon prices. Learning to properly apply the permanent solution to your hair is an essential part of a successful perm.
Instructions
1. Purchase a home permanent kit that's made for your type of hair. You must roll your hair before beginning this part of the application.
2. Place a long piece of tissue or thin fabric around the bottom of the roller area, going from ear to ear. Put another towel around your shoulders to absorb extra solution.
3. Snip off the plastic point at the top of the permanent solution bottle.
4. Hold the bottle in one hand, over your head, and turn it downward over the rods. Squeeze the bottle enough to allow the solution to flow out in a stream across the top of the rollers. The solution will soak through the rolled hair.
5. Go to the next roller down and do the same. Start with the middle row of rollers on the left side of your head. Go down the column to the bottom row of rollers, and continue this pattern across your head to the right.
6. Finish applying the solution to the rollers on top of your head. You must lean your head back slightly so that when you apply the solution, it will not run down your face.
7. Place the plastic cap that came with your perm kit on your head to keep in the heat.
