The Emmy Awards are television's highest honor. Usually held in early September, the hottest stars in Hollywood turn out to celebrate the work of their peers. Here are some tips on watch the Emmy Awards.
Instructions
1. Watch the pre-show. Sometimes the pre-show is better than the actual show. Usually covered by the "E" channel among countless other news outlets, you get to watch Hollywood's hottest stroll down the red carpet. You can check out who's dating who and most importantly, what everyone is wearing.
2. Print out an Emmy Awards guide. This can be found online at emmys.com or emmys.tv (see Resources below) or right in your local paper. This will let you know who is nominated in every category. That way, before the awards, you can make time to watch the nominated shows so that you'll be well informed.
3. Check your local listings for exact date and time info. The Emmy Awards are a big revenue maker for the network that gets to carry them. Networks are constantly outbidding each other for the rights to carry the show, so be sure to check TV Guide or your local paper, as you definitely don't want to miss one of the biggest nights in Hollywood.
4. Record the show with a DVR or TiVo device. DVR has completely changed the way we watch TV today. Be sure to record the awards, that way if you miss something or want to watch a shockingly spontaneous moment over again all you have to do is rewind. Hey, it's Hollywood, you never know what might happen.
