Medium Hair Ideas For Homecoming

There are lots of formal styles to choose from for homecoming.

Every student wants to look their best for homecoming. Finding the perfect hairstyle to complement your outfit is all part of the fun of homecoming. There are lots of choices for medium length hair to suit every style and personality. Many styles can be achieved yourself at home with a little practice, without the assistance of a professional stylist. Ensure you practice in plenty of time so you can perfect your look for the big event and to avoid any stressful mishaps.

Sleek waves

Sleek waves look classic and sophisticated and work well for a formal event such as homecoming. The finished look will be glossy, neat and elegant. Sculpted waves can be created with a curling iron. Before putting heated curling irons to the hair ensure you protect it with a heat protecting spray or balm. Then start at the root and work the curling iron down the hair shaft. Run some serum through your hair to give it a glossy finish. Hair can then be pinned into a low bun at the nape of the neck or left flowing and loose.

Classic ponytail

A ponytail is not simply for bad hair days or when playing sports. Many celebrities have been seen wearing a well-groomed ponytail on the red carpet. A classic ponytail is an elegant alternative to a complex updo or loose hair. If you decide to wear your hair in a ponytail for homecoming think about the type of dress you will be wearing and how your ponytail may complement it. For a backless dress, a low side-ponytail with added curls will look stunning. Alternatively a high, straight ponytail can look elegant and shows off pretty facial features.

Halfway twist

A halfway twist is perfect for girls who want to wear their hair up, without it looking overstyled. This style may look like it has taken a long time to complete, but actually it can be achieved in a matter of minutes. Try the look by taking a front section of hair about an inch thick and wrapping around a large roller. With the remaining hair scoop back into a low ponytail and secure using an elastic. Take the ponytail and twist it. Clamp down the twist with a barrette allowing the remaining hair to tumble over the barrette. Remove the roller from the front section of hair and finish with hairspray.
