Hair texturizers are used for any of a number of reasons. They can loosen yet maintain curls and allow them to grow vertically. They also reduce frizz and provide better hair manageability.
Remove Tangles
Hair must be combed first to remove any knots and tangles from it. This will help the texturizing product to be applied and removed from the hair easily.
Protection
Plastic gloves are worn to protect the hands of the person applying the texturizer. Texturizers are made from chemicals that can be harmful.
Application
Outline the hairline with a thick amount of the texturizing cream, starting at the back of the neck, around the ears and forehead and to the back of the neck again.
Comb It In
Use a comb and hand to mix the cream into the hair, combing in the direction that the hair falls. Add more texturizing cream to the comb if it is running thin.
Washing and Styling
Rinse out extra texturizer cream, washing from the root to the tip of the hair. Use fingers to style hair and a blow dryer to add volume.
