Preteen Pagent Hairstyles

A twist hairstyle is perfect for the active participant.

It is not an easy task to find a hairstyle for a preteen participating in a pageant. The look needs to be true to the girl's age. The style also needs to keep up with the contenders, who are sure to be moving about on stage. Hairspray is a must.

The Flip Hairstyle

The flip hairstyle is sassy yet elegant. Spray hair with a volumizing spray before drying. Use a round brush to blow-dry and smooth your hair. Tease the hair at the crown using a comb. Finish blow-drying ends with the round brush and use the brush to flip out the ends away from your face. Tuck hair behind your ears for a finishing touch.

The Elegant Ponytail

This hairstyle gives a sophisticated touch to a modern ponytail. Dry hair using a paddle brush to smooth. Curl hair at ends using a medium-barrel curling iron. Tease hair slightly at crown. Use the paddle brush to smooth hair into a low ponytail and secure with an elastic band the same color as your hair. Take a small piece of hair from under your ponytail and wrap it around the elastic band and secure with a bobby pin at the base of your ponytail.

The Twist Hairstyle

This twisted hair style is the answer to girls who will be moving about on stage. The hair is divided into two sections in the front of the head and two sections in the back. The two front sections are separated into three pieces which are twisted and pulled to the back of the head. These pieces are then joined with the back section and then twisted into a coiled bun on each side of the back of the child's head. The reference section gives a step-by-step description of this easy hairstyle.
