Make Ponytail Streamers

Ribbons and little girls go together like peanut butter and jelly or tea parties and teddy bears. Every little girl loves to use pretty, frilly ribbons to dress up her favorite outfits. A simple, inexpensive ponytail streamer can be made to match. Ponytail streamers can be made with any size ponytail and can be customized with any color or pattern ribbon. In just minutes, you can jazz up a ponytail to complete the perfect outfit.

Instructions

1. Measure each ribbon twice the length that you want the ribbons coming off the ponytail. For instance, if you want long streamers the length of your child's hair, measure that distance and multiply it by two. If you want little ribbon tufts coming off the ponytail, measure only two or three extra inches.

2. Add an inch to compensate for the length of the knot.

3. Cut the ribbons the length that you wish.

4. Paint a small line of nail polish or fabric glue onto the ends of each ribbon to prevent fraying.

5. Tie the ribbons onto the ponytail band, with a knot in the middle of the ribbon, either one at a time to make a line of streamers or tie them all at one spot to create a single place from which the ribbons stream.
