Popular short teen hairstyles for guys include funky yet easy to achieve looks. Layered, trendier haircuts give off a edgier appeal but classic cuts also trim down unruly hair and give off a neat finish. Faux Hawk

The faux hawk is a mock mohawk mixed with a spiked look. The hair is layered on the sides, then brushed down on the back, left and right, but hair at the top of the head pulls together and spikes with gel and sculpture lotion with a curl outwards towards the front. The haircut is great for thin to medium hair since it has layers.

Spiked

The spiked haircut is a wet, trimmed look that looks well on oval, heart, diamond and round face shapes. The hair is short all around including the areas, then gel is used to spike the hair up at the front with a blow dryer. Mousse, smoothing agent, sculpture lotion and gel can all be used to achieve this look.

The Ryan Seacrest

The cut is rather like the spiked hair cut but with a bit longer hair up top. The hair is cut short on the sides and neatly trimmed around the ears, then the front of the hair is left long in order to curl upwards off the forehead. Using gel or hair spray as well as finger dry or blow dry, you hold the hair up by the ends and lightly spread gel into the strands. Gel or other sticking agents should be applied lightly as this is a generally dry, soft look.

Hell Raiser

This hairstyle is short on the back and sides, but the top is kept longer. First the hair is brushed down on the sides and ears, but the hair on the top has lots of volume and looks even better if curly. With scrunching and finger dry techniques, the stylist can use mousse, molding paste or hair spray to keep hair raised on top.
