Make A Side Braided Chignon

Make a Side Braided Chignon

A side braided chignon can give you an elegant look for a variety of events. Whether it's for prom, a wedding or a Mexican fiesta, you can make the side chignon quickly and attain your desired style. The side-braided chignon works best for women with long hair, at least six inches past the shoulders.

Instructions

1. Part your hair with a comb off to the left side of your hair. The part should be over the center of your left eyebrow. Gather all the hair that was parted over and on your right side of your head. Leave alone the hair on the left side and in the back.

2. Braid the hair from the right side, beginning just above your right ear. Create one long braid and secure the bottom with a band that's either clear or a color similar to your hair.

3. Brush the hair from the left side of your head towards the back. Hold all of this hair in your left hand and bring it around to your right side by the braid.

4. Wrap the straight hair around your braid by bringing it up from the bottom towards the front and over the braid again towards the back. Continue wrapping the straight hair around your braid until you reach the ends. Then tuck the ends underneath and secure it all with some straight hairpins.

5. Take the braid and wrap it around the hair already gathered. Wrap the braided hair in the same direction as you did previously. When all the hair is wrapped, secure it in place with straight hairpins.

6. Smooth away any short hairs with a glossing cream. Place an amout the size of a pea in the palm of your hand and rub your hands together. Then lightly smooth your hands across your hair to flatten any stray hairs.
