Contemporary Hairstyles For Men

Contemporary Hairstyles for Men

Having a stylish and up-to-date hairstyle is important in many aspects of a man's life. A trendy, modern haircut will boost your self-esteem, and make you more confident in both professional and social situations. When choosing the contemporary hairstyle, it is important to consider your overall style, your facial structure, and the impression you are trying to make upon those around you. Choose a style that is contemporary, but at the same time fitting of your appearance, lifestyle, and personality.

The Short Front

The short front style of hair is simple and to the point. The hair should be cut to be the same length all around, without longer bangs in the front. This contemporary haircut is especially suiting for those with a receding hairline. In the past, men have tried to cover up their receding hairline with long bangs in the front. In contemporary hair fashion, however, keeping short bangs is thought to make the onset of a receding hairline less noticeable. A natural and masculine look is achieved through the short front hairstyle, making it perfect for middle-aged professionals.

The Fringe

The fringe hairstyle consists of short, neatly buzzed sides, and an equally short back with longer hair on top. The lengthier top falls neatly over the cleanly clipped back and sides. The back and sides are shaped with clippers using a blade size of either four or five. While the length of the top of the cut can vary, it is generally cut to leave the bangs above the eyebrows. The fringe is styled to push the lengthier hair on top forward towards the forehead. Styling this hairstyle is made easy with pomade, and helps in obtaining the fashionably messy trademark of the hairstyle.

The Slick Back

The slick back has evolved in contemporary society from the classic slick back hairstyle. For guys with curly hair, the cut is usually kept to between 1 and 3 inches on top. For those with straight hair, the slick back will look best when cut to a slightly longer length on top. Regardless of whether the man's hair is straight or curly, the sides of the hair is cut short. Styling the slick back is made easier through the use of hair product such as gels and pomades to push the hair back and keep it in place. For the best results, the hair should be slicked back to the side that best accents the wearer's face. A part can be combed and styled in if preferred.
