Get A Perm Marker Out Of The Carpet

Permanent markers can stain fabrics.

Most permanent markers will write on virtually any surface, making labeling various items in your home a breeze. This unique pen does have some drawbacks, however. For example, if a permanent marker falls to the ground or is left out without the cap on, the ink inside the marker can leave a stain on your carpet. With the right techniques, you can get out most of the permanent marker stain.

Instructions

1. Dampen a white cloth with rubbing alcohol and use it to blot the permanent marker stain.

2. Look at the cloth as you blot. The permanent marker should be going from your carpet to the cloth.

3. Blot the permanent marker stain on your carpet with a dry side of the cloth. More of the ink will go from the carpet to the cloth.

4. Blot again with rubbing alcohol, using a new side of the cloth. Then blot with a dry side. Continue this process to remove as much of the stain as possible.

5. Dampen a new cloth with water and use it to rinse the carpet. Blot the area dry.
