Ways To Fix Long Hair

Long Hair

Long hair can provide many different styling options. Leave hair down and long, fix it into an updo, sleekly straighten it or style it into carefree curls. A ponytail is a standard style for long hair, but there are other ways to fix long hair as well. Create casual or formal styles easily with long hair.

Updos

Fix long hair into a stylish updo. An updo can be formal or casual. Pull hair back into a tight ponytail. Leave a fringe of hair around the face to soften the look or pull it all back into the ponytail. Twist the ponytail around itself and as you are twisting allow the ponytail to coil into a circle. Place bobby pins into the hair as you are coiling it. To create a formal updo, make sure that all of the hair is neatly pinned into the coil. To create a casual updo, allow some curls and tendrils of hair to escape the bobby pins to create a tousled look. Spray the hair well with hair spray.

Curls and Waves

Create a style with curls and waves. Blow-dry freshly washed hair so that it is straight and smooth. Heat the hot rollers. Separate the hair framing your face into two-inch sections. Roll each section on a medium-size hot roller away from your face. Separate the hair on the top, sides, and back into three-inch sections. Roll each section on a large-size hot roller in all different directions. Leave the hot rollers in the hair until they are cool. Remove the hot rollers and run your fingers through your hair to tousle the curls. Do not brush or comb through them. Spray hairspray all over to set the curls.

Down and Straight

Wear long hair down and straight. Blow-dry freshly washed hair with a flat brush. Pull small sections of hair taut with the brush and direct the blow dryer from the base of the hair to the tips. Part the hair straight down the center or in a zig-zag part, or pull bangs across the forehead in a side-swept style. Heat a straightening iron and use it to straighten small sections of hair by pulling it through the hair from the scalp to the tips of the hair. Spray hair with a finishing spray to calm any frizzy fly-away hairs.

French Braids

French-braid the hair by beginning with three small sections at the top of the head. Cross the left section over the middle section and cross the right section over the middle section. Add a small amount of hair from the loose hair near the left side of the braid to the left section and cross the left section over the middle section again. Add a small amount of hair from the loose hair near the right side of the braid to the right section and cross the right section over the middle section again. Continue braiding in this fashion, adding additional hair from the left and right sides each time until all of the hair has been French-braided. Place an elastic band into the hair to secure it.
