Side Pony
A side pony is a playful yet sexy way to wear your hair for a formal event. To achieve this look, start by spraying dry hair with texturizing spray. Part your hair to one side. Back comb the top half and smooth it down with a brush. Loosely gather your hair into a ponytail at the nape of your neck on the opposite side from where your hair parts. For example, if you part your hair on the right, create a ponytail on the left side. Secure the ponytail with elastic. Allow a few tendrils to fall from the ponytail and frame your face. Add a large flower or a decorative clip to give the look more appeal.
High Bun
A bun is often thought of as a formal hairstyle and it can be sexy, too. Create a sexy bun by backcombing dry hair to give it volume. Create curls in straight hair or add definition to curly hair with a wide-barrel curling iron. Separate your hair into small sections. Twist each section and wrap it around the curling iron. When you remove the iron, you will be left with ringlet curls. Once all of your hair has been curled, flip your head upside down and gently shake it to loosen up the curls. Add a finishing spray to hold the curls in place.
