Long Shag Haircuts For Curly Hair

Rock a shag haircut to accentuate your waves or curls. Shag haircut layers reduces frizz, lightens your hair and controls your curls. Select shoulder length styles or longer to build volume and add a sexy element to your long hairstyle. Achieve the hottest style using frizz controlling hair products, a round brush, curling iron and blow dryer.

Long and Layered

Some of the most visible celebrities are sporting the long shag haircut. Some stars add hair extensions to lengthen their locks past their shoulders while others are sporting naturally long hair.

Cut long, shaggy layers into your curly or wavy hair. Add medium length layers to your crown with layers getting longer as your hair cascades down your back. Your bangs should be long, around cheekbone length, and layered.

Style this cut using a quarter sized amount of frizz controlling gel on wet hair. Brush the gel through your hair to cover every strand. Scrunch layers and bangs while letting hair to air dry. Use a blow dryer on a low setting with a diffuser if you don't have time to wait for it to air dry. Tip your head upside down and scrunch your layers as you hit them with the dryer. Stand up, brush through your long shag and spritz it with hairspray when it's dry. Scrunch your waves and curls and allow the hairspray to set. Push your hair over to one side and comb with your fingers.

Curly Shag with Bangs

Create a romantic curly style that allows you to keep your bangs. Cut medium and long layers throughout your hair. Bangs should be layered and cut to hit the tip of your nose when wet.

Spray a copious amount of volume building conditioning spray into your roots while hair is wet. Pull the top layers upward and scrunch with your hands. Roll your bangs around your large round brush and blow dry. Allow the rest of your hair to air dry or add the diffuser to your dryer and blow dry your hair on a low setting while scrunching your hair.

Use the curling iron to add an adorable flip to your curls. Rub a dime sized amount of pomade between your hands and run your fingers through the crown of your hair and pull upward. Shake your curls with your pomade covered fingers.

Razor Cut Shag

Bring layers and curls toward your face to frame your features with a long razor cut shag. Thin your tresses before adding layers. Make razor cuts around your face and cut the length so that it's slightly shorter in front and gradually gets longer in back. This style looks great with or without bangs so go with your personal choice.

Add a quarter sized amount of pomade to wet hair to keep frizz under control. Brush your hair toward your face then brush it down. Wind sections of hair around a large round brush and blow dry. Point the brush toward your face and pull the brush toward your face and outward as your blow dry.

Spritz your hair with moisturizing conditioning spray and scrunch your layers to enhance curls. Let the spray dry, then lightly spritz with hairspray and run your fingers through your hair.
