Use Thinning Shears On Bangs

Using thinning shears on bangs is an inexpensive way to maintain your haircut. Thinning shears create the trendy, pieced look. Try using thinning shears to cut your own bangs and saving yourself money.

Instructions

1. Have an idea of what style you'd like to create beforehand. Look in magazines or online of bang styles that you like.

2. Wash and dry your hair. Dry hair gives you a better idea of how short you're cutting it. Wet hair is generally longer than short hair. It can give you an incorrect picture of how much you're cutting.

3. Part your hair where you would normally part it.

4. With a comb, measure halfway down your hair shaft. This is the best place to start.

5. With swift motions, used the thinning shears to snip the hair shaft. After a few cuts, step back and reassess.

6. For pieced bangs, only cut halfway down the shaft, moving up if you want them to be shorter. For longer, sleeker bangs, only cut near the very end of the shaft.
