Hair Ideas When Wearing A Strapless Dress For Curly Hair

Formal hairstyles suit strapless dresses.

Strapless dresses are commonly worn for weddings, proms and other special occasions. Part of the charm and beauty of a strapless dress is that it shows off your neck and shoulders. Curly hair is soft and romantic, so it works well with strapless dresses. Find some hair ideas for when you're wearing a strapless dress, and look gorgeous for the special day.

Spiral Curls

Try wearing large spiral curls with your strapless dress. These curls are more structured and contained, rather than loose and wild. The style evokes old Hollywood glamour, which complements the elegant dress. Prepare your hair by using hair gel and setting lotion to coax the curls into place. Using a large-barrel curling iron, create the loose spiral curls. Add extra sparkle by pulling up one side and securing it with a decorative clip.

Curled Bun

A curled bun highlights the back of your neck as well as your bone structure. To create this hairstyle, put your long hair into a ponytail. Curl sections of the ponytail and pin the ends to your head with bobby pins. Continue until your hair is in a bun shape. Pull out a few of the curls in front and let them frame your face.

Low Ponytail

A low, curly ponytail shows off toned arms and shoulders. The ponytail should be low, at the nape of your neck, as a high ponytail would look too casual. Run styling cream and shine serum through the curls before styling. Add a silk orchid to the top of your ponytail for an elegant touch.

Headband

There are fewer styling options for short curly hair, but you can easily dress it up. If you have a mid-neck or chin-length bob, use styling cream to keep hair from looking frizzy. Use a medium-barrel curling iron to add extra curls or to shape existing ones. Slip on a thick, satin headband, and you are all set.
