Wedding Hairstyles With Lily Flowers

Select your favorite lily to accent your wedding hairstyle.

A variety of lilies can be incorporated into a wedding hairstyle, such as orange lilies, calla lilies and lily of the valley. Coordinate the lily with the other wedding flowers and colors to keep the flowers from clashing with the wedding dress. Whether the hair is worn up or down, a lily hair piece can be used to tie the look together.

Bun

A bun can be formal and simple like a ballerina bun, or it can be a messy bun ideal for a casual wedding. Place your hair into a ponytail. Tightly twist the ponytail for a simple, but classic bun. For a messy bun, do not coil the hair as tightly. Pin lilies all around the bun or just to one side. Or decorate a comb with lilies and slip it in above the bun.

Chignon

A chignon is an updo that gathers curls around the nape of your neck. Start by curling your hair in spiral curls. Then push them all to one side. Hold them in place with a few hairpins. Grab sections of hair and pin them around the first pins to hide them. Let the curls fall as they may to create a beautiful hairstyle of cascading curls. Add a few lily hairpins to the top or side of the chignon just above the ear.

Ponytail

To make an elegant ponytail hairstyle for a wedding, start by making a ponytail either high, low, or to one side. Grab a one-inch section and wrap it around the base of the ponytail to cover the elastic band. Then pin the hair down. Pin a silk or real lily on one side of the ponytail. Keep in mind how you will be photographed and where you will be standing during the ceremony as you position the ponytail and lily.

Half Up, Half Down

Accent a half-up and half-down hairstyle with lilies. Add a headband adorned with silk lilies, which can be worn with practically any half-up, half-down hairstyle. To pin a lily around a bun or ponytail, trim the stems and glue the bloom to the end of a hair clip or comb (they can also be glued to the ends of hairpins). Curl the hair or leave it straight for this look.
