Finding a perfect hairstyle requires understanding your hair's texture and type.
Whether you are currently sporting thick and curly locks or you have a full head of thin and straight hair, finding the perfect hairstyle for your hair type allows you to wear you hair proudly with confidence. Choosing a hairstyle based on your hair's texture and length ensures your hair's best appearance whether you're heading out for the day or going out for the night.
Instructions
1. Observe your own hair using a mirror. Determine whether you have thin, thick, fine, straight, wavy or curly hair. If you have split ends or bangs, make a note of it for when you begin looking for hairstyles that fit your natural hair currently.
2. Browse through beauty, fashion and hairstyle magazines to find inspiration and hairstyles or cuts you would like for your hair. Cut out specific styles and gather them together to find a final look and style you would like for yourself.
3. Wear straight bangs if you have thin or thick straight locks. Add curls to your hair yourself using a hot curling iron only at the ends of your hair, adding depth and volume to the semi-formal look. Create a part in the center of your hair, or opt for side bangs to add a bit of personality to your look.
4. Create a side bun if you have naturally wavy hair, or opt for a half-ponytail and allow the rest of your wavy strands to hang loose and relaxed. Add additional banana curls to your hair using a hot curling iron for an old Hollywood glam look.
5. Purchase hair-smoothing serum if you have naturally curly hair and apply it before heading out for the day for a natural messy curl look. Wear your hair in a high ponytail leaving only strands of curls down to add to the depth and volume of the look. Pull the top portion of your hair back and pin it using bobby pins or clips to create a top "poof" or bump.
