Lebanese wedding gifts may be challenging to find and select.
Choosing a gift for a Lebanese wedding may be a challenge, especially if the etiquette for the particular wedding you are attending is to give something traditionally and/or culturally Lebanese. It can be a safe bet to veer towards purchasing a religious gift if you know for certain what type of religious wedding it may be, otherwise, arts, crafts, and literature might be the way to go.
Lebanese Pottery
Pottery as an art and craft in Lebanon has been an integral part of the life and culture in that country for centuries and continues to thrive. Commonly made items include eating utensils, molded bowls, and Phonecian wine jars, which are usually cylindrical in shape with small round handles on either side. These jars commonly feature earth colors and spiral designs meant to symbolize good luck and holy water.
St. Charbel Paraphernalia
St. Charbel was a Lebanese Maronite Catholic monk and priest who was later venerated as a saint. If the Lebanese couple in question is Catholic, perhaps a rosary, pendant, or Christmas ornament with St. Charbel's likeness may be a great choice. Lebanon is also known for woodcarving, and especially wooden beads, so choosing a pendant, ornament or rosary made out of the traditional olive and cedar of Lebanon is in order.
Khalil Gibran Literature
The essays and poetry of Khalil Gibran, the third best-selling poet of all time, may be an ideal gift for anyone, but especially those who appreciate Lebanese literature.
Khalil Gibran is perhaps one of the most well-known writers and poets of Lebanon, and the third best-selling poet of all time. His most widely-known publication in the English world is "The Prophet," which is a collection on philosophical poetic essays. Otherwise, there are at least 15 collections of his English poetry currently in print, as well as eight other publications in Arabic.
