Do Pinup Girl Hair Styles

Curlers can help you achieve a pinup girl look.

Many women wear their hair simply. Ponytails, messy buns or long, loose waves are the order of the day, and they rarely require anything more than a hairbrush and a rubber hand. While basic hairstyles are great for daily life, sometimes you want to add a bit of glamour to your look. Mimicking the pinup girls of the 1940s and 1950s is one way to get a new look that'll capture attention and invite admiration wherever you go.

Instructions

Basic Curls

1. Spray your hair once with water from a spray bottle and then scrunch your hair in your hands. You want it to be just a tiny bit damp, not dripping at all. Brush your hair until you can run your fingers through it without them getting caught.

2. Take a section of hair and hold it out from your head. Put a hot roller on top of the very end of your hair and roll it toward your head, so the roller stays over your hair on the first roll, not under. When the entire section of hair is rolled up, pin it to your head.

3. Continue rolling your hair, using small sections, until each piece of your hair is pinned in curlers on your head.

4. Spray your hair all over with hairspray. Use a blow dryer set to a very high heat to dry your hair completely. Then let the rollers in your hair cool down for one hour.

5. Remove the pin from a single curl and unroll the hair. Spray the curl as soon as the roller is removed. Repeat with each curler on your head. When you're done, spray all of your hair again; then use your fingers to comb through your hair and train each curl to your liking.

6. Add a cute, polka-dotted headband that matches the colors in your outfit to complete the look.

Victory Rolls

7. Divide your hair into two sections, so that you have a straight part down the back of your head.

8. Pull out one entire section of hair and place a sponge roller at the end of the section.

9. Roll the hair around the sponge roller until it is on top of your head, being sure the roller is completely obscured from view.

10. Pin the roller in place. Repeat actions with the second section of your hair.

11. Pin a flower into one of the rollers to complete the look.
