Take Glamour Photos At Home

Capture your beauty in a glamour photo.

Glamour photos are meant to display the beauty of the individual. There are a number of ways glamour shots are taken: in a natural setting, in front of a backdrop or with props. Proper hairstyling, cosmetics application and lighting are integral to high-quality glamour shots, as they enhance the beauty of the photo's subject. While some people may look to professional hairstylists, make-up artists and photographers to take their glamour photos, a less expensive option is to take your own at home.

Instructions

1. Find two or three locations at your house to use as a background for the photos. The background should be simple such as a blank wall or a bench outside. Keep lighting in mind when selecting a location. If you do not have a blank wall or backyard, try hanging a plain sheet on a wall.

2. Use your choice of cosmetics to enhance your natural beauty. Lipstick, blush, eyeshadow and mascara are commonly used for glamour shots.

3. Style your hair. If you prefer straight hair, use a flat iron to create a smooth, shiny look. For a voluminous hairstyle, use a curling iron for curls.

4. Put on clothing that makes you feel more appealing, confident and comfortable. Clothing items for photos should be solid colors so that they do not distract from your face.

5. Add jewelry and accessories to fit your preference. Necklaces, earrings and a belt are simple accessories that can dress-up your photos.

6. Set the automatic timer setting on your camera and place it on a sturdy desk or table across from where you intend to pose. If your camera does not have an automatic timer setting, have a friend or family member operate the camera.

7. Take photos with a variety of different poses so that you have options to choose from. Also, try switching some of the accessories and background locations to create different looks.
