Haircuts And Styles For Round Faces

There are many styling options for a round face.

Round faces are usually accompanied by a round chin. Round faces do not have the length that oval faces have, so the main goal for a great hairstyle is to create a picture of length. This is done with haircuts and styles that give the hair height while keeping the hair flat to the head so it does not appear to make the face rounder.

Just Below the Chin

To give the illusion of length, haircuts that fall just below the chin are perfect for those with round faces. Do not, however, cut the hair shorter than the chin unless you are going for a super short pixie cut that will fall behind your ears. Keeping the cut below the chin adds length to a round face.

Layered Cut

If you want layers with a round face, go for soft layers that taper away from the face and reduce a bulky or heavy look on your head. Layers can be added to short or long hair on a round face in order to enhance any style.

Add Some Bangs

Bangs would normally be considered off limits for those with round faces. However, longer bangs that are layered to the sides or curled will give the face a longer look. Stay away from straight bangs and any other style that completely frames your face.

Keep Your Hair Long

One way to help offset a round face is to emphasize the slenderness of your neck. This can be done with long hair that is layered or shagged. The hair can be styled to complement the shape of a round face using any of the tips described here.

Straight

Round faces and short curly hair do not go well together because of the width that curls produce. If your hair is curly, it is best to keep it long and layered if you have a round face. Straight hair will create a sleek look that suits a round face.
