Create Curly Updos For Long Hair For Prom

Spraying your hair with a thermal protectant will keep your hair from getting damaged.

Curly hair updos are relatively easy to achieve and can look very sophisticated. A curly updo is perfect for prom or any other formal event. Before you begin, make sure that your hair is clean and dry and has been thoroughly brushed to remove any tangles.

Instructions

1. Spray your hair lightly with a thermal protectant.

2. Curl your entire head using a barrel curling iron. You can use any size barrel, depending on the look you want to achieve.

3. Separate your hair into a front and a back section. Using your elastic, tie the back section into a ponytail. You can position the ponytail as high or as low on your head as you wish, depending on how high you want your updo to be.

4. Take the hair in the ponytail and, shaping the curls as you like, pin them around the elastic. When you have pinned all the curls, the elastic should not be visible.

5. Pin the remaining loose curls around the pinned ponytail curls. Start with the curls closest to the ponytail and make your way to the front of the head. Depending on the length of your bangs, you may want to pin them to the side or tease them and pin them back.

6. Lightly mist the finished updo with hairspray, smoothing back any flyaway hairs at the front.
