Create Large Curls In Wavy Hair

Create large curls in wavy hair with hot rollers.

If you want to create large curls in your wavy hair, you'll need a few expert tips to unleash your inner Marilyn Monroe. While hairstylists create beautiful ready-to-wear hair at the salon in a few hours, you can mimic their expert styling magic easily at home. To do as little damage as possible to your tresses, use simple salon styling tips and a steady hand to create large curls.

Instructions

1. Start with shampoo-free hair. The day after your daily cleansing is the perfect time to style hair. The hair will have the proper texture to hold the waves, without being too greasy.

2. Spritz a heat-activated volumizer or serum throughout your entire head, recommend the experts at Marie Claire. Using your fingers, distribute evenly throughout and avoid the roots. Flat iron your tresses on the lowest setting to prevent breakage and damage.

3. Section off hair into four identical parts across the crown from ear to ear, and from your temple to the nape of your neck.

4. Starting at your forehead, add hot rollers to your hair in two-inch sections. To create volume, roll the medium-sized rollers away from your face.

5. Mist your hair with a light-hold spray. Undo the rollers after 5 to 7 minutes. To create the large curls, brush the curls out with your fingers very lightly.

6. To create soft and shiny waves, run a small drop of shine serum through the hair. Pull the serum through the under layer of your hair, concentrating on the ends where your hair is the driest.

7. Set your waves with a light-hold hairspray.
