Use Mizani Thermasmooth

The Thermasmooth system is intended to help tame curl and frizz.

Mizani Thermasmooth is a salon-grade professional hair care system that is intended to help smooth curly or frizzy hair while conditioning and protecting it in the process. According to Mizani's website, the Thermasmooth system is great for people with natural or color-treated hair, people with hair that is growing out a relaxer, or people whose hair has already been relaxed but desire more time between relaxer touch-ups. This four-step process is best when customized by the stylist to suit individual clients' needs.

Instructions

1. Use Mizani Thermasmooth Shampoo to cleanse the hair. When working with wavy hair, curly or excessively curly hair, it is best to use 1 oz. of product on wet hair. After lathering, rinse the hair completely using lukewarm water. Repeat the shampooing process once more. This cleansing step is designed to prepare the hair for the rest of the smoothing procedure.

2. Towel blot and gently massage a moderate amount of Mizani Thermasmooth Conditioner into the hair and scalp. When working with wavy hair, comb the conditioner through with a wide-tooth comb and let it sit for three to five minutes before rinsing with lukewarm to cool water. Curly hair does best when a plastic cap is placed over the hair after conditioner is combed through. After applying the plastic cap, sit under a warm dryer for five minutes, cool down for one minute, and rinse hair in the same fashion as with wavy hair. If hair is excessively wavy, treat it as you would with curly hair, but sit under the dryer for 10 minutes instead of five. Then follow the same rinsing process as wavy or curly hair.

3. Smooth the hair using Mizani Thermasmooth Smooth Guard Smoothing Serum. Towel dry the hair. When working with wavy hair, evenly apply one to two pumps of Smooth Guard throughout the hair. Then section hair into four parts, securing with clips for control, and completely blow the hair dry.

When working with curly or excessively curly hair, use two to three pumps of Smooth Guard. Section hair into four parts, as with wavy hair, but use an additional one to two pumps as needed while blowing each section of hair dry. Continue the process until you reach the desired smoothness in the hair.

4. Apply Thermasmooth Shine Extend Anti-Humidity Spritz. Set the heating tool to the appropriate temperature for your hair type and texture, and then section the hair for styling. Slightly spray each section of the hair with Shine Extend. Then, smooth 1/4-inch sections, according to hair density, until all the hair has been straightened. For curly or excessively curly hair, slightly spray additional Shine Extend to finish and help lock in style.
