Young Girls Hairstyles

Young girls want their hair styled in a way that will get them noticed. While girls admire celebrities and runway models for their hairstyles, celebrity stylists aren't the only ones who know the secrets to the best styles. Luckily, you can get the insider tricks to scoring hairstyles perfect for a young girl. Create the hottest hairstyles with a few tips. Grab your favorite styling tools and get started.

Bohemian Waves

No trendy girl's hair arsenal is complete without a waved hairstyle. To start this style, wash the hair and apply a leave-in conditioner to the hair with your hands. Comb the conditioner through from root to tip. Once the conditioner is well distributed, braid the hair. Separate the hair into 2 sections (a left section and a right section), and then braid them. The more sections you have, the tighter the waves will be. Once you have braided the hair, secure the ends with elastic. Wait at least four hours for the braids to dry and then release them. Run your fingers through the waves to make them more natural. Scrunch in a wave-enhancing mousse to add definition and volume.

Straight Hair

To get straight hair, wash and condition the hair with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Apply a heat protectant to the hair and comb it through. Blow-dry the hair straight with a paddle brush, taking special care not to tangle the hair. Once the hair is completely dry, allow it to cool, and spray with heat protectant again. Next, flat iron 1-inch sections of hair from root to tip. Once all the hair is straight, make a side part in the hair and finish with shine spray. The shine spray must be silicone-based to prevent frizzing.

Sassy Pigtails

This style is a grownup twist on the popular children's classic. Start with clean, wet hair. Add a heat protectant mixed with a curl-enhancing gel. Blow-dry the hair with your fingers, scrunching the hair into a wave. Once the hair is 90 percent dry, separate it into two sections, gather each section into a ponytail and secure with an elastic band. Finish this look with hairspray and a clip. You can also make a side part to emphasize your features.

Textured Bed Hair

For a perfectly undone hairstyle, work with hair that was washed the day before, and apply a dry shampoo to the hair. Apply a texturizer gel to your hands and rub them together. Apply the gel to your roots and work through the hair with your fingers. Tease the crown of the hair carefully with a fine-toothed comb to add volume. Comb out the front bangs and place a headband on the hair past the bangs. Finish this style with a shine spray.

Preppy Ponytail

Carefully comb through freshly washed and blow-dried hair to remove tangles. Gather the hair at the nape of the neck and secure it into a ponytail with an elastic. The ponytail should fall 1 inch below the crown of the head. Allow a few 1-inch sections of hair at the front of the head to fall free. Place a thin headband on the hair behind the front sections and secure any flyaway strands in the back of the hair with bobby pins. Spray with hairspray to add hold to the hair.
