Find Great Wedding Day Hairstyles (Brides Bridesmaids And Mother Of The Bride!)

Wedding Day - Chignon Hairstyle

Selecting your hairstyle for the wedding day is a lot simpler with these tips.

Instructions

1. First you will have to decide if you will have long or short hair the day of the wedding. While you may have short hair today, you may be able to grow your hair longer for the wedding day and the same goes in reverse. Perhaps you'd like to cut your hair shorter for the event. Imagine your hairstyle when trying on wedding dresses.

2. If you are looking for thicker hair or fuller hair the day of your wedding, a hairpiece or hair extensions may be what you are looking for. Your hairstylist will be able to help you decide what is best for the look you'd like to accomplish.

3. An up-do will help keep your hair in place the day of the wedding. If you plan on doing a lot of dancing which would mess up your hair, this is generally a good style for women with long hair. Not only will your hair stay in place, it will show off your shoulders, neckline and jewelry.

4. If you have long hair and wish to keep it down, it is a good idea to keep some of it pulled back to show off your face for the pictures. Pulling your hair back will also keep your hair in place eliminating the need to run to the bathroom to brush your hair every 30 minutes.

5. A chignon is a type of bun that piles your hair into large pinned curls. This type of hairstyle is difficult to do so you will need a trained hairstylist to accomplish this look. In this picture, I have shoulder length hair with real hair extensions to create a fuller look. Your hair stylist may recommend a hair piece or extensions as well if you have fine hair.

6. Decide whether or not you will be wearing a veil or any type of hair accessories. Be sure to bring these pieces with you on your first visit to see your hair stylist. Notice in this picture I am wearing a tiara and veil. You may also notice that this is not the hairstyle I wore on my wedding day so it is important to have a trial run before the big day!

7. If you have short hair a simple hair accessory may be all you need to style your hair. Short hair styles are much easier to maintain over the course of a day than any other style. That being said, it is still a good idea to see a hairstylist and get a good cut and style for the day even if you decide to do your hair yourself.
