When going blond, it's important to find the right shade of blond for you.
Ash-blond hair is a medium-blond hair color with cool tones. When your new permanent ashy hair color doesn't look right with your skin tone, the best solution may be to remove the hair color. A hair stylist can use chemical processing at a salon but this method of dye removal is expensive and can be harsh on hair. Instead, you can remove most of the color yourself at home.
Instructions
1. Pour 1/4 cup of clarifying shampoo into a bowl and add 2 tsp. of clear dish washing detergent. Stir the two ingredients together to mix well.
2. Wet your hair and shampoo your hair with the dish washing detergent and shampoo combination. Suds up the shampoo thoroughly and be sure to scrub your hair from the roots to the ends. Allow the mixture to sit on your hair for two to three minutes.
3. Rinse your hair thoroughly under warm water to remove the shampoo and detergent mixture, as well as the hair color dye.
4. Apply a deep-conditioning cream or oil treatment to your hair. Cover your head with a plastic shower cap to keep the heat close to your head. Place a bath towel around your head and the shower cap and let the deep-conditioning treatment sit on your hair for 30 minutes.
5. Rinse hair well after conditioning.
Rinse away the deep conditioner and allow your hair to air-dry.
