Hairstyles For A Grade Eight Graduation

Wear a hairstyle that looks great with a graduation cap.

A grade eight graduation is a special occasion that often marks the transition from middle school into high school. This graduation ceremony may be the first for a young girl, and figuring out what to do with her hair might be a frustrating situation as she wears a cap that can feel awkward. Hairstyles should be age-appropriate and easy to do, and should look great in photographs.

Side Hairstyles

Side hairstyles are popular for young people, according to Hairstyle Updos. They can look young, fashionable and sophisticated at the same time. Some side hairstyle ideas include side ponytails or off-centered buns. Side hairstyles have the advantage that they look good with or without bangs and with any shape of face. To create a side ponytail, simply gather hair into a low ponytail on one side and secure it with an elastic band.

Chignon

Great for long hair, the chignon is a hairstyle that will never go out of fashion for those with medium to long-length hair. A basic chignon is a knot formed at the back of the head, and the most popular placement of a chignon is at the nape of the head. Chignons originally were made in the shape of a figure eight, but it is acceptable to create any type of twist or knot you like today. Secure a chignon with hairpins and adorn it with sparkling hair clips or small flowers.

Sleek Low Ponytail

Eighth-grade graduates can create a sleek hairstyle by slicking their hair into a low ponytail. However, a flashy barrette should not cover the elastic hairband because the student will also wear a cap. Instead, the graduate should wrap a small section of her own hair around the elastic band and secure the end of the strand of hair with hairpins under the ponytail.

Braids

Braided hair is not just for pigtails. Various hairstyles incorporate braids. For example, a graduate can wrap a braid around a bun, chignon or the elastic band of a ponytail. A unique hairstyle to make with braids includes gathering long hair into a low ponytail. Braid small sections of hair in the ponytail into individual braids, and secure the end of each braid with a small elastic band that matches the color of the graduate's hair. Gather the hair at the end of all the small braids together with a large ponytail, twist the hair into a bun and secure it with hairpins.
