Perm Hair Properly

If you usually perm your own hair at home or for others, here's a way to avoid droopy curls and strong perm odor left in hair.

Instructions

1. Choose the correct perm for the hair. Lightly shampoo the hair and wrap the hair in rods while wet. Thoroughly saturate each rod with wave lotion/perm solution. Let process according to manufacture's directions.

2. Rinse rods thoroughly for at least 7 minutes. This will remove all of the wave lotion and lessen the strength of the perm scent when complete. One of the biggest problems in perming hair is the scent of the perm lotion left behind due to improper rinsing. Also, perm solution not completely rinse may cause chemical damage to the hair.

3. Blot each perm rod with folded paper towels. Paper towels are used for maximum asorption. Repeat as many times neccessary. Apply neutralizing solution, process, remove rods and rinse. A light conditioner may be used, but do not shampoo. Improperly blotted rods will produce a weak curl. It is very important to remove as much water as possible.
