Do Prom Hairstyles For Long Hair

High school proms are an American tradition many teenagers look forward to with great anticipation. Choosing a hairstyle can be a challenge, especially if you have long hair. The good news is that you have many options and trying dressy styles can be fun! Follow the steps below to create a beautiful prom hairstyle and beautiful prom pictures you'll cherish for many years.

Instructions

1. Try a classic updo. Blow dry your hair straight by pulling the hair taut and aiming the dryer down the hair shaft. Apply an anti-frizz serum. Brush your hair into a high ponytail and secure it with a hair elastic. Separate your ponytail into sections, each about one-inch wide. Hold a section of hair straight up toward the ceiling. Roll the hair down toward the head and secure it underneath with a bobby pin, creating a pretty roll on the crown of your head. Repeat, rolling sections different directions. Spray with a liberal amount of firm-hold hair spray. Apply shine serum.

2. Complement a strapless dress by leaving your hair down in loose waves. Wash and condition your hair. With the conditioner still in it, comb out the knots with a wide-tooth comb. Rinse. Scrunch your wet hair into your palm, and squeeze small sections up toward the roots, all the way around your head. Apply a small amount of mousse. Let your hair air dry. Once it's dry, roll one-inch sections around a one-and-a-half-inch curling iron. Hold for a few seconds before unwrapping. Use your fingers to separate the curls into loose waves and lightly sprtiz them with a lightweight hairspray.

3. Opt for a messy chignon. Pull all your hair into a loose ponytail at the nape of your neck. Pull the ends of the ponytail back through the hair elastic. To cover the hair elastic, wrap a random piece of hair around it and secure the hair with a bobby pin underneath. Pull a few tendrils out on either side of your face. Apply anti-frizz serum all over your head, including the tendrils, which you should scrunch into your palm to create very loose waves. Lightly spritz with hairspray.

4. Go for a sleek, stylish ponytail. Blow dry your hair straight, then liberally apply a shine serum. Pull all of your hair up into a tight ponytail at the crown of your head. Wrap a half-inch section of hair around the hair elastic, securing it with a bobby pin underneath the ponytail. Apply a smoothing gel of cream, and spray entire head with a medium-hold hairspray.

5. Sport a long, straight, and elegant look. Apply a liberal amount of straightening lotion, concentrating on the ends. Blow dry hair as in step one. Part your hair in the center or on one side. Quickly run a straightening iron over one-inch sections of your hair around your entire head. Run fingers through your hair, then spray it all over with a lightweight hairspray. Liberally apply a shine serum, concentrating on the ends.
