Make Hair Jewelry

You can use a variety of different kinds of rhinestones to do different hair jewelry looks.


Hair jewelry can be a pretty and sparkly way to decorate your do for any occasion, be it for a formal event, a night out, or just for fun. Making your own hair jewelry can be easy to do at home, and a great way to make your own with your own unique style. If you want to make some shiny hair jewelry, learn the easy steps you can do, in order to get some sparkle in your locks.


Instructions


1. Head to your local crafts store and pick out some rhinestones in various colors and sizes, depending on your preference. You could do thick rhinestones that are bright colors, or simple elegant smaller ones, such as silver or white.


2. Place your rhinestone on a sheet of white paper and trace around it. This will be your reference point when cutting the VELCRO later, cut out your small shape.


3. Put your rhinestone tracing onto the backside of the rough-sided piece of VELCRO and use white pencil to trace your rhinestone shape, if you are using black VELCRO. If you are using white VELCRO, you can use a black pencil to trace the shape.


4. Cut out your shape from the rough-sided VELCRO, then trim it to be a little bit smaller than the original shape, so that it will fit onto you're the back of your rhinestone, without being seen.


5. Glue your VELCRO to the underside of your rhinestone using a hot glue gun, and being careful not to get hot glue on hands, or on the front part of the rhinestone. Let glue dry.


6. You can now stick your rhinestone into your hair, and the rough hooks of the VELCRO will grab onto strands of hair, without causing damage.
