Cut A Fohawk At Home

Fohawks can be work-ready or ready for a night of partying.

A fohawk is a newer version of the mohawk hairstyle. It is becoming popular, particularly with celebrities. This haircut has the ability to be pushed back and look professional during the work day, but you can get a little wild when you get home. Fohawks can easily be cut by a barber, but can also be cut at home by following a few simple hair-cutting instructions.

Instructions

1. Cut strips along the sides of your head with a pair of clippers. Connect the proper size attachment to the clippers based on how thick you want your hair on the sides. Move the clippers from just above the ear to the back of the head on both sides.

2. Hold the hair on top of the head out of the way and cut another strip off of each side, this time closer to the top of the head. Let go of the hair you were holding in place once the cut has been made.

3. Trim the hair on the top of you head to the desired length with a pair of scissors. Cut it so it is even throughout. Trim the sides and bangs also.

4. Apply mousse or other hair gel to the top of your head. Style it so the hair is sticking up and makes a point at the top throughout your entire head. Pull the hair up by hand to a point. Position one hand on each side of the head the bring them up to a point beginning at the front and working toward the back of the head.
