Curl Rods For A Homemade Perm

To acheive a beautiful perm, it is important to know roll perming rods correctly.

A perm can transform even the straightest hair into beautiful curly locks. Although you could go to a beauty salon or spa to get a perm for your hair, it can often be very costly. One alternative is to give yourself a homemade perm using a perming kit, which can be purchased at any beauty supply store. When giving yourself a home perm, it is important to know the proper way to curl the perming rods.

Instructions

1. Wet your hair, and towel dry it so that your hair remains damp.

2. Separate your hair into six sections: one section on the top-front of your head, one section on the crown of your head and two sections on each side of your head. Secure each section with a hair clip.

3. Take the hair clip out of the crown section, and use a point-handled comb to separate out a thin section at the very top of the crown section.

4. Place a perming paper underneath the thin section, and place a second perming paper on top.

5. Squeeze a small amount of the perm solution onto the paper, saturating it.

6. Place an opened perming rod underneath the papers, and hook the ends of the papers over it.

7. Roll the rod under, effectively rolling the papered hair with it.

8. Stretch the elastic clasp over the rolled perm rod, and hook it into the end of the rod. This completes one permed rod.

9. Repeat this process with the remaining hair on the crown section.

10. Repeat this process with the other sections, starting with the front section, then the back side sections and finish with the front side sections.

11. Leave the rolled perm rods in your hair as long as the perm kit instruction require, then rinse out your hair in the sink using slightly warm water.
