Rid Hair Of The Remnants Of A Perm

Rid Hair of the Remnants of a Perm

Generally speaking, perms last approximately three to four months. This does not mean that all of the effects of the perm are gone after this time period. Some curl and frizz will remain until all of the hair that has been previously permed is cut away. Most people simply get another perm to take care of the problem. Yet, if straight hair is the goal, another perm prolongs the growing-out process. A straightening iron can be used to temporarily remove the curl, but a more permanent solution is available that will completely remove the remnants of an old perm.

Instructions

1. Wrap a perm cape snugly around the neck and fasten into place. Comb and section clean, wet hair with a fine-took comb. Leave a 2-inch horizontal section of hair loose at the nape of the neck. Pin and clip the rest of the hair up and out of the way with hair clips.

2. Shake the bottle of perm solution to mix. Puncture the tip of the bottle with a thumbtack. Saturate the loose hair at the back of the nape with the perm solution. Comb through the section with the fine-tooth comb, and bring down another horizontal 2-inch section. Repeat process until all of the hair has been brought down, saturated and combed through.

3. Set the timer for 20 minutes. Comb through the hair at least every five minutes during the processing phase. Rinse the hair with warm water for five minutes after the 20 minutes is over. Gently dry the hair with a towel. Comb through the hair to remove tangles.

4. Shake the bottle of neutralizing solution to mix. Puncture the tip with the thumbtack and apply to the hair in the same manner as the processing solution. Set the timer for five minutes. Comb through the hair continuously during the neutralizing phase.

5. Rinse the hair completely using warm water after the five minutes is up. Towel dry and style the hair as desired.

  1. When it comes to quality, real hair wigs are often the most expensive option. This is because the quality of the wigs is so different from the natural ones. It's important to consider the source of the wigs you're buying.
