With a little creativity, you can create a crazy hairstyle.
You can make your short hair look crazy by cutting, coloring or styling it in a different and creative way. If you are a girl who is committed to maintaining your radical look for at least a couple of months, cut and die your hair to make a bold statement. If, however, the look is just for a special occasion and you want to revert to your more classic style the next day, use styling gel and temporary color rather than permanently changing the actual cut or color of your short hair.
Instructions
Style Your Hair
1. Choose a layered cut that is shorter on the top than the sides of your head. Towel dry your clean head of hair, leaving a little moisture in it.
2. Apply a long-lasting, firm-hold gel throughout the center strip of your hair, from the roots to the tips. Choose a strip of hair that is about twice as wide as the space between your eyes.
3. Backward comb individual pieces of your hair from the base to the tip to encourage your hair to stand vertically from your scalp for a Mohawk look. Style your hair into different directions for a messy look. Create triangles by pinching together sections of your hair at the ends.
Color Your Hair
4. Add a bright color to your hair to make even a conservative short-hair style look crazy. Purchase a commercial hair dye that clearly has the word "temporary" marked on the box, if you want the look to wash out in a few days. Consider adding clip-on-colored-hair extensions, to avoid having to bleach very dark hair.
5. Apply hair color to clean hair. Carefully follow the instructions of the manufacturer for the best result. Color just a portion of your hair, such as the roots, tips or sections throughout your hair for a dramatic look.
6. Choose a color that makes a bold, dramatic statement such as hot pink, burgundy or blue. Use more than one contrasting color for a crazy look. If you are coloring your Mohawk, for example, color the center portion pink and the sides gray for a dramatic look.
Shave Your Head
7. Shave your head for a very unusual look. Cut your hair to within one inch of your scalp with a barber's scissors.
8. Use a hair clipper to trim the remaining hair away from the scalp. Work in small sections running the clipper over your scalp in the same direction as the hair growth.
9. Take a shower to clean off any remaining fine hairs. A gently baby shampoo can be used on your newly shaven scalp. Maintain the look by shaving at least every three days.
